Tras una larga jornada de trabajo, degusta un insuperable vino español, una espectacular sangría roja o una excelente cerveza española. Este lugar es conocido por su sensacional frappé de chocolate, su estupenda limonada y su extraordinario café americano.

Tenia que visitar Cataluña o España para aprender bien hacer lo que ofrecen en la carta, un americano le parecerá muy buena la comida pero para un español no, el personal es muy amable por esté motivo le pongo 3 estrellas la comida serían 2

Located in the heart of San Francisco's Financial District, B44 Catalan Bistro serves up authentic Spanish cuisine direct from the Catalonia, or Catalunya in their native Catalan language, region in Spain. As someone who recently made a trip to Barcelona, I can honestly say B44 provides as close to a similar culinary experience that I experienced there. This goes right down to the exterior of B44 Catalan Bistro, located on a small alleyway among all of the skyscrapers that make up downtown San Francisco, it feels as if you are in a small alleyway in Europe, with their tented patio area that you have to pass through in order to dine inside. With a huge bar with televisions playing soccer on them on one side and a interior dining room with bistro tables and chairs on the other, it felt as if I was transported to small bistro in Barcelona. I came with family to celebrate the first night of San Francisco Restaurant Week, which allows both locals and tourists alike to enjoy local restaurants during the winter season when they're not crowded, with a three course pre-fix meal. What intrigued us the most was wide variety of entrees to choose from that B44 was offering this year. But we began with our first course and half of our party of five selected their Catalan fish soup filled with mussels and shrimp and two others selected to dine on their Local Squid Brochette served on a bed of baby white bean salad and parsley picada. I ordered the soup and loved my dish, it was more of a lukewarm soup filled with blended vegetables, seafood and olive oil rather than a warm soup with broth. For my entree, I ordered their Paella Monolete which was served on a very hot paella pan filled with saffron rice, squid, sepia, mussels, green peas, fennel sausage and pork loin. Others in my party ordered Swordfish a la Plancha served with sauteed spinach and fries, and their Chicken Leg Quarter served on a bed of basil leaves. I was so happy with my order mainly because it was such a large amount of food for one entree. There was so much food, I gladly shared with my fellow diners, one of whom was disappointed with this chicken leg, as he no doubt expect a little more. The only issue I had with my paella was that although it tasted as authentic as paella can be there was so much of it that after a while every bite started to taste the same which came across as bland and after all was said and done was way too oily for my taste. By then, we were ready for dessert and with two choices we were offered I ordered the Crema Catalana, which was basically their creme brulee made with cinnamon and topped with fresh strawberries, while others ordered their Dark Chocolate Mousse topped with chantilly creme. Our desserts were delicious and we finished off every bite. We had a wonderful time at B44 as it wasn't busy at all, although it was a Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m., so closing time was near. Would I return to B44? In a Happy Hour heartbeat as it looks like they have a lot of great Spanish tapas and wine pairings to go with them. Restaurant Week allows us to get a real feel of a restaurant's menu with our choice of entrees over multiple courses. And on this night, I was sold on what they have to offer at least for Restaurant Week at B44 Catalan Bistro on quaint Belden Lane in San Francisco.
