Since I was a little girl, this has been my mainstay for theatre and enlightenment. The first show I saw was "Phantom of the Opera." It impressed me much more than when I got to see its performance on Broadway in my later years. I can not think of the dish, "Chicken Cordon Bleu," without the dazzling BDT stage sparkling across my mind. I am indebted to all the actors (servers and cooks when not in costume) and stage hands that worked so very hard to grant its patrons the most magical and memorable experiences, this side of the Rocky Mountains. They were pivotal in the molding of my love for theatre and the arts. The BDT also played a role in my growing up, providing countless warm memories of dressing up to go see a musical or play. The performances were inspiration and food for the soul. The actual food was pretty darn good, too. I don't think I'll ever eat Chicken Cordon Bleu again. It'll be my small protest for what Boulder has lost in the closing of the Boulder Dinner Theater. The housing that will be built here does come at a very high cost: the loss of culture. I'm so upset this is the last few shows for the Boulder Dinner Theatre. I've been around Boulder all of my life and just always remember the Boulder Dinner Theatre. When I heard they were running the last show, I tried to get tickets to the last show 5 months in advance. It was completely sold out. I did manage to get tickets to the weekend before and was very happy. My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary, and couldn't think of a better local activity. She enjoyed it so much.
