Brahhhhh, this place is a hidden gem! Or maybe it's not but this is a great place with some REALLY tasty food! Can't wait to go back. Fast friendly service, place is clean and my wife and I enjoyed and will be back!!! We didn't get a picture of our dinner plate we shared which was bbq chicken and kabli!

Honestly the most disappointing jjajangmyeon i've ever had in my life. I ordered through bitesquad and was so excited for it to arrive because I was starving. I opened it up as soon as it got here and it looked pretty promising. All of my hopes and dreams were let down immediately when I tasted it though. The sauce has NO flavor (not even salty?!) and it was just filled with potatoes. The 5 cubes of meat that I eventually found were completely dry and hard to chew. I took a few bites and just stopped eating. At least the fried mandoo were good?

That moment when you are craving for a Korean seafood restaurant but you don't know where to go in Honolulu. Enter Bifa Seafood restaurant in Kaimuki town. This restaurant replaced Kaimuki Chop Suey when the previous restaurant suffered a fire and was subsequently closed. That was August 2007. Bifa Korean Seafood restaurant opened their doors from Summer 2018. Tasty Korean fare is hard to come by and a lot of places - like Yummy's and other fast food outlets - charges an average of $10 or more for an entree. Bifa is no exception. I arrived here on a recent Friday evening in February 2020 with family. It was the closest Korean restaurant that wasn't Yummy's Korean barbecue in the Kaimuki / Kahala area. The restaurant itself was small, but large enough to accommodate about 30 people at a time. I was amazed at how nice the renovations were done and comparing it to the old Kaimuki Chop Suey, which has been there since the 1980's. We entered around 6:30pm after a day at the office. We also were celebrating my niece's birthday, so it was nice to find this place so close to home. There wasn't much people dining at the time of our arrival, so we were seated almost immediately. We had a party of 6 including 2 kids. We spent about an hour and a half here enjoying the ambiance of casual and relaxed. The service here was average, but friendly. We waited about 20 minutes for our food, which seemed like a long wait, but we waited and waited for the food to arrive. I'm surprised that I waited nearly 2 years to try this place. Probably because the price tag of this place and knowing that Korean barbecue cuisine ain't cheap, but so delicious! The overall experience here at Bifa Korean Seafood restaurant was decidedly good, although average at the same time. It's a nice restaurant that serves a bunch of classic dishes that you can find at any take out restaurants around Honolulu, as well as other dishes that seem to interest you to try. They have the meat jun, kal-bi, and the barbecue chicken for those purists, but you can find some hidden gems here that would be worth the trip. For me though, I ended up getting the meat jun + fish jun combo, which ended up being close to $20, which isn't far off from prices from comparable take out places around Honolulu. The taste was good and delicious, while being average and decent, but definitely hit the spot after a long day at the office. They are located across the street from Pipeline Bakeshop & Creamery @ 3611 Waialae Avenue. They accept major credit cards, as well as cash. Parking can be a bit of a problem here, especially when it's Kaimuki. Best bet would be street parking, but there are paid parking lots nearby and try to get to them before the mad lunch or dinner rush to get the best spots! If you're like me, bus routes 1, 1L, 9, and 14 come through the area and stop off either on Waialae Avenue or on Koko Head Avenue near the restaurant. For the most part though, it was a nice place that can serve as a nice Korean place to get that fix you need without having to go too far for Korean food. While the prices can be a little bit of a shocker, the service can be hit or miss, but what I found was the service was basically in the middle. Just average and friendly, although we waited a little longer than expected. While the food was good but average, I can say that Bifa can be what you want it to be. While it's only in its 2nd year in business, I wish that it will stay in the Kaimuki area for as long as it can. Definitely check it out, if you have a craving for Korean cuisine or just some Asian fusion with a Korean twist. I'd recommend coming here and you may find what you're looking for. It can be your hidden gem in Kaimuki, but it wasn't so much for me. While the food was delicious, I thought it was just okay. I probably would come back for special occasions and not on a regular basis. Check it out if you're in the area. It's pretty good but don't get your hopes up. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 4.0 stars for the food and ambiance. 4.0 stars for the service. 3.0 stars for the prices. Not sure if they have public WiFi or central air conditioning. Just didn't feel it at the time. Support local! B
