Went for husband's birthday. Rooms wonderful, food amazing. Expensive but for a special occasion worth it.
Went for a one night stay with my wife in November 2019. I shall list the reasons I've given it an average rating:1) Booked a deluxe room. We were given the "Mimosa room". This room was fine inside but had a view of the side of the roof of the adjacent conservatory - not a nice view (deluxe rooms are advertised as having "courtyard views").2) Dinner that night (the tasting menu) was very good up until the dessert - the pistachio souffle is essentially a marzipan fest. Very disappointing if you hate marzipan (which we both do). The most irritating thing was that we asked to swap the pear almond tart for the souffle thinking that the pear tart would be full of marzipan! At least they did not charge us £25 to change the dish (which the menu says they usually do).3) At breakfast the next day, I wanted to try a couple of the hot options but was told by the waiter that this was not possible. At bit rich given that we paid about £1500 for one night and dinner! In the end I got the omlette and the waiter was kind enough to give me a bit of black pudding (but not the full dish mind you!).Overall I have to say that - for the price - the above failings are not really on.We are unlikely to go back.
Since the Manor House became Le Manoir in the early '80s I haven't been inside it. So how can I review it you ask?Well, I have lived in Great Milton all my life and I have walked past it many times with various dogs on our daily walks so my review is as an observer walking by. The Manoir stands next to St Mary's Church which is worthy of a visit if you are staying there. The actual Manoir stands on the sight of an earlier thirteenth Century house and the oldest parts date back to the late fifteenth century. Le Manoir stands in beautifully maintained grounds in which they have birds of prey displays at times. There are also some pleasant walks around and about.
