Great Chinese Hot Pot spot!
Comfort food. Various options of the hot pot base, they have spicy (3 level), original or tomato soup base. And their appetizers are amazing!!! I definitely recommend the 玫瑰冰粉!
Boiling Passion has finally opened in a relocated suite from their previous spot across the plaza. I really like the format change as it is now an individual hot pot setup. After the broth is brought out to your table, you walk up to the refrigerators along one side of the restaurant to pick out the proteins, carbs, and vegetables that you wish to boil. Not only was it more convenient to serve yourself, but you can go back and quickly get additional servings without having to rely on the wait staff to go back and forth from the kitchen. Step 1 was to choose a soup base (house - mild, spicy, hot; bone - non spicy). I picked the bone flavor. Step 2 was to decide if you want to pay $1.50 for access to the dipping sauces and condiments at the bar. I did so because I wanted oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, ginger and sesame oil to dip the cooked items. Step 3 was to head to the refrigerators and select the foods you wanted for your hot pot. Skewers were charged at $0.39 per stick, but note that most of the items required two skewers so in fact the price was $0.78 each. There were also 'boxed' items at $3.99 and $4.99 each. They contained exotic stuff like organ meats. A plate of noodles and a box of vegetables each cost $1.99. Be careful because the quantity and cost can add up really fast. I ended up consuming 51 skewers so that was roughly $20 for a little over 25 items. Add in a set of noodles along with the above bone soup base and dipping sauces. The cost after tip was about $30. Tax was already included in the price of each item. I was pretty satiated after eating that much food. You could also order special desserts, house made fruit drinks, and special snacks (e.g. fried fermented tofu, taro pie, golden bun, etc) as non-hot pot choices to supplement your meal. I gave my dining experience here a four star rating.
