Average Christmas day lunch. Chicken extremely dry, supposedly slow cooked beef was extremely tough, Porterhouse I was told would be medium/medium rare but was medium well, potatoes were not roasted, beans were limp and over cooked. Had to line up like sheep on Christmas day to put our order in which was a long process made even longer by person taking order telling person in front of me all about them not being here in 2 weeks time. Only one person on the bar. (who was cheerful and made the best of the situation he was in at busy times) But you would expect a Christmas bon bon cracker and a Christmas serviette on Christmas day! We enjoyed the dessert and the view. Although I did ask for a table next to the window and was told yes but didn't get it and added another person to booking but place on table wasn't set for them. We arrived at 12.30 and got dessert at 3.20! With all the write ups I had seen about Brophys restaurant I thought it would of been a good choice for Christmas lunch! Instead we were disappointed. I was a chef for 30 years so I do know about wages and staff availability on Christmas day! Quality of food not there and nothing Christmassy about it
