So we ate here based on a Groupon we got. Probably I should have looked at the reviews on Yelp because I may have not eaten here based on their health code. However, that being said, we didn't have an issue with our food. Place was the usual odd décor for an India buffet, mix of thrift sale stuff and copper with flashy lights. We had a Groupon for the buffet. Like most places I thought there was some things that were really good and some things that were average. What I will say is that the buffet trays should have been hotter. Our server was helpful and friendly, and I love trying different things. There was a few items on the buffet table that I haven't seen before and I really enjoyed that. My favourite was the "chat" mini buffet. Chat is chickpea flour shells that you fill with flavoured chickpeas and different sauces...each time can be a different flavour combination. Loved this. I am hoping they have made changes to their kitchen...and safe handling with food. I can't recommend it with the code violations, but wait 6 months and see if they are using safer practices.

An unassuming, small looking Indian restaurant from the outside, Bukhara Indian Bistro offers a cozy, spacious, and well decorated interior while delivering a variety of tasty dishes at fair value.I visited for the lunch buffet, normally $17 per person, with a $20 lunch buffet for two Groupon ($10 per person). Especially at this value, the restaurant experience was absolutely a 5-star experience. The buffet food was reasonably fresh and tasty, the naan was prepared hot and fresh, and the servers were very friendly and attentive. I don't think I would consider any of the dishes (except for maybe the naan) "the best I've ever had," but again, the main appeal is the incredible value to quality balance.Last thing to note is that I was a little hesitant about going to Bukhara, seeing the number of 1-star reviews it got. I had never been to the restaurant pre-renovations, nor can I comment about bad customer-server interactions other people had, but what I can say is that complaints about "dirty floors and bathroom" or "poor quality food" can definitely be dismissed as either gross exaggerations or completely false.
