Jacqueline has the best soufflés in Northern California. If you want an authentic, absolutely delicious, soufflé--one that is light, airy, full of exotic flavors, consider dining at worldclass Cafe Jacqueline.  We dine out frequently and have ordered soufflés at many 5-star restaurants in and around the City. But none compare to the soufflés crafted by Chef Jacqueline Margulis.  Yes, there is a real "Jacqueline" who is the genius creator behind every soufflé that comes out of her kitchen, piping hot, to your table. She's in her kitchen each night the Cafe is opened.  Each soufflé is prepared for at least two  people.  Several years ago, Chef Jacqueline said that, since she opened in 1979 she has cracked more than one million eggs.  Whether you order one of her savory soufflés like the Lobster, Prociutto Mushroom, or Tomato Cilantro, or a dessert soufflé like Lemon, Grand Marnier, or the seasonal Fresh Fruit, you won't be disappointed. The flavors are so amazing you won't do much talking while you are eating--you will only be able to make groans of pleasure and enjoyment as your palette and tongue go into spasms of delight.  Sllurpp!! It's rumored that the late Steve Jobs, once a frequent customer, enjoyed Jacqueline's soufflés so much that he offered to buy her cafe.  My wife and I began dining there in 1990 and we try to make it to the cafe to celebrate special events throughout the year. We recently celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary with Chef Jacqueline. And there are only two servers. Matt, the consummate maitre d', has been with Jacqueline for more than 25 years. He is distinguished by his neatly trimmed handlebar mustache and classy swag. Scott, also a longtime employee, works with Matt as a waiter who provides excellent service. Both Matt and Scott are experienced sommeliers. Together they provide great service to each customer making us feel that we are the only ones in the Cafe. You will be not be disappointed with Jacqueline's extensive wine list, and her nice offerings of soups and salads.
