I wrote to the restaurant to describe my experience and said I didn't intend to share it publicly. I expected a "thanks for letting us know", but I got no reply at all. So I changed my mind. I'm posting it publicly. My wife and I arrived at 6:45 with a 7pm reservation, and were told by a clearly annoyed hostess that we were early for our reservation and our table wasn’t ready. This made no difference, as we were ultimately seated late, not in a booth in the main room in the restaurant, but in the farthest corner of the back room, where staff were easily able to ignore our presence. We killed time at the bar, where we were quickly crowded out of our seats. I know the bartender there and left a hefty tip. (I think his name is Matt.) I hope every cent went to him. He was the only person who did his job all night.Once seated somewhere near Utah, we ordered a carafe of red. White came out.We ordered an arugula salad. Kale came out. While waiting for the salad we actually ordered, we were asked the old hoax: “do you want your pizza with your salad?” This is code for, “Your pizza is waiting under a heat lamp; do you want us to bring it to you now, or after it’s gone cold?”You can see where this is going. When the pizza finally did arrive, it was undercooked and cold – clearly, it had been made in a hurry and had sat around for the time it took to get the salad order corrected. Stupidly, we ordered dessert – after waiting 20 minutes for the waitress to take our order as we sat in an otherwise empty room, the only customers left. One of our party is gluten free. In the dessert she got – which, by now predictably, wasn’t the one she ordered! – she wasn’t even sure what she had was gluten free. This is a bit alarming. My wife ordered a crepe so rubbery it could not be cut with a fork – the only utensil offered with the course. She would have asked for a steak knife if the waitress had returned to offer something other than a big check. While my guests and my wife ordered dessert, I invited my colleagues at least (my wife does not drink) to join me in the port recommended with my wife’s dessert. Again, what was received was a profound disappointment. We found ourselves presented with three glasses of cough syrup. One colleague couldn’t pass the first sip; I know him well and he is not a fussy man. God knows how long that bottle was open, but this was well past its expiration. This was 42$ for three small drinks no one could finish.Won't be returning; we were treated like dirt and charged a fortune.
Great Italian food at a reasonable price.
Good place, always busy. Had mussels and always get the margerita salmon for my wife. J.T. is always great behind the bar.
