Possibly the worse meal I have ever had and here’s why..
Dined as a family of 3, we were offered our table and menu promptly, we took some time deciding our food as there are plenty of choices. Both husband & I decided on Ciscoe’s Special ‘build your own ramen’, only were then told there’s no ramen that evening upon ordering , why didn’t someone tell us this sooner?! Fine.. I then ordered Minute Steak & Chicken udon, my husband chose Mixed Seafood Rice with Agadashi Tofu and Nigiri Smoked Eel on the side. Sirloin Steak Teppanyaki for my son.
The wait time for the food was much longer than one would expect, especially for a restaurant that only has two tables of customers on a Sunday evening (should have seen that as a sign really!) But that was the least of my problem! The food finally arrived but all overloaded with salt! I know that’s how restaurants sell more drinks, but my udon was literally swimming in sauce , so salty it burnt my tongue! I could barely eat it so I ended up ordering a bowl of plain rice and ate a bit of that for my dinner!
My son and husband were trying so hard and managed half of their food, as they were hungry. But to add insult to injury, my husband’s so-called mixed seafood was just fish, nothing else. My son’s £29 dish should have came with 2x California roll but that never came.
No-one once came and ask how our food was, even though you can clearly see the food was barely touched.
Mentioned all that at the end, the waitress came back offering to take the drinks off our bill (that was approx £15 for two beer and two flat coke!) at that point we just want to leave so we paid the final bill of £83.
It was certainly an expensive mistake, everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong! Would have had a much more enjoyable meal at a high street chain restaurant (Wagamama or Yo!Sushi to name a couple) If only I can give it zero star.
My partner and I ordered a huge platter of vegan sushi which was absolutely beautiful and delicious. The staff are all really knowledgeable about allergens and there is so much choice!
