This "Greek God" has been a beacon of seafood excellence for the glamorous diners of South Beach since opening its doors in 2012. Some don’t even need a menu and prefer to order based on a guided tour to the back, where all manner of fish and crustaceans gleam on packed ice. With fresh seafood arriving multiple times a week, the kitchen tends to keep preparations simple... Excelente restaurante griego de Miami. La ensalada griega y los pescados frescos son lo más recomendado. Volveré

Had dinner at Estiatorio Milos By Costas Spiliadis on Wednesday evening. We ordered a bottle of Greek wine and the rest of our selections all came from the Miami Spice menu. We had the Salmon Tartare and Charcoal Grilled Octopus for appetizers, the Dorado Royale and Colorado Fresh Lamb Chops as our entrees, and The Real Greek Yogurt and Baklava as desserts, with Kefalograviera thrown in as an a la carte extra appetizer. Quality Estiatorio Milos is an upscale Mediterranean seafood restaurant. I was first introduced to the restaurant during the SOBEWFF, where they absolutely wowed me with their grilled octopus, so I was excited to see their participation in Miami Spice. And while elements of my meal were excellent, overall I felt they did not quite meet my lofty expectations. The Charcoal Grilled Octopus was just as good as I remembered it. Delicious and fresh octopus served alongside a medley of peppers and mushrooms, it was the highlight of my evening. I also was very glad to have ordered the Kefalograviera, cheese saganaki, which was a rich and decadent dish to go along with the lighter seafood items. The Salmon Tartare was not my favorite, I feel salmon tends to be too fishy for a tartare preparation, but this was still one of the better ones I have had. My issues really were with the two entrees, neither of which I truly enjoyed. I found the Dorado Royale to be just very bland. The grilled fish just needed some seasoning to enhance the dull flavor profile. The Colorado Fresh Lamb Chops meanwhile were flavorful, but lacking in terms of meat and what was there was too fatty. I also was not a fan of the fries that came on the side, which were a soggy mess. Of the desserts I much preferred the Baklava to The Real Greek Yogurt, served with honey and walnuts, but I knew that would be the case even before it hit the table. Quantity When I think of Mediterranean cuisine I usually think of lighter and healthier options. And while light dishes were spread throughout our meal, there was more than enough substance to ensure I left satisfied. The addition of Kefalograviera as well as the bottle of wine also helped in that regard. Value One of the great things about Miami Spice is that it affords the opportunity to explore a menu and see if it is something you want to see more of. And while bits and pieces of a great meal were there, too many misses make me wary of returning for the expensive dinner menu. Ambiance Estiatorio Milos is located in Miami Beach in the SOFI area. It is a high end restaurant that has a very luxurious and grand feel. After entering through the revolving door, you are greeted with a massive open space. To the right they have an elegant bar highlighted by panels of wood and stacks of wine behind glass. They also had a screen set up showing an art video of people dancing. At the back of the restaurant they have the kitchen, which also includes the display of seafood available. The rest of the space is filled in with tables dining tables across two areas that are partitioned off by minimalistic white drapes. It is tough to tell whether the acoustics were poor or if it was just because of the amount of people filling up the restaurant, but at times it was tough to hear. I also believe they had instrumental music on in the background, but that slowly was droned out by the increasing crowd. Crowd When we arrived the restaurant was still pretty empty, but by the time our entrees arrived nearly every seat in the house was taken. It seems to have a late dinner demand even throughout the week. It is also a more upscale environment so many people had suits and suit jackets. Although not required, dressy clothes feel more appropriate. Service During our meal we had two waiters that were working our table. They were both extremely professional and provided a high-end level of service. I also enjoyed that the server who brought out our bread clipped fresh oregano directly from the plant, it was a wonderful touch. Parking They have valet parking set up directly in front of the restaurant, but street parking is also an available option. I like to utilize a small parking lot about two blocks away. Extra Estiatorio Milos By Costas Spiliadis is a good restaurant with a very refined style, but I believe the food does not quite live up to the price. It is worth a try for seafood lovers with the fresh selection available, but I don't see myself rushing back for another try.
