Se trata de un restaurante italiano de comida casera elaborada con productos naturales. El precio por un menú ronda los 30-40$ por persona -competitivos para ser Nueva York y por ser un local con un toque elegante-, . Nos trataron de maravilla, comimos extraordinariamente bien y el personal estuvo muy amable. Se habla español, dado que muchos de los trabajadores son hispanoamericanos, por si alguno no se maneja bien con el inglés.

We tried this place because it it was close to The Met and was the only place available with a day-of reservation for 9 on father's day. Looking back, it was easy to see why. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, as only 3 other tables were seated while we were there. I placed my order, and the waiter asked me what else I wanted. Wanting a light meal for myself, I told him that all i wanted was the tuna tartare, which he refused to allow me to order based on the dish's size, arguing with me that it wasn't enough food for a meal, and that I wouldn't be satisfied with it. I told him I wasn't interested in a large meal but he refused to take the order. Instead, I ordered the branzino special that they had, which he, once again, claimed was not enough food and that I should order more food along with it. At this point I already wanted to leave. I couldn't understand why the waiter wouldn't just take my order and move on. If I were there with a smaller party, I certainly would have gotten up and taken my business elsewhere. Despite his reluctance to accept my branzino order, he finally took my order after I insisted that the fish was all I wanted.It took over an hour to get our food, some of which came out wrong from the kitchen because the waiter was not taking our orders properly. Luckily my branzino came out as I had ordered it, and the portion was so large that I couldn't even finish then entire plate. This was after being told that the portion was too small for a meal, and that I should order an additional course. The food was good, but not spectacular, and for the very high prices they charge, I expect something exceptional, which this was very much not.I feel like my poor experience was mostly from the service side of things rather than the food itself. The waiter refusing to take my order and trying to make decisions for me was ridiculous and unacceptable, starting the whole meal off with a bad taste in my mouth, then waiting over an hour for the food after that made even just sitting in that restaurant annoying and uncomfortable. My first experience at Giovanni Venticinque will also have been my last.
