Worst restaurant experience I ever had. Hale Koa means House of the Warrior- they did not live up to their name. Kokos did not serve my family due to my daughter's attire. Would be fine accept that I called ahead, got clearance for my four year old Keiki in swimsuit. They told me on the phone it was absolutely fine if she was dry. We waited 1.5 hours to ensure dryness. When my family of four tried to get served, the said "no" , my 4 yr old did not meet the standard because she was in swim suit. Understandable... IF THEY SAID THAT IN THE FIRST FN PLACE. However, they did not. In fact.. just the opposite. So we wasted two hours to get dry and argue (unsuccessfully) with a myopic and predictably pedantic management lordship who did not have the temerity to make an allowance (they caused this). Terrible job of supporting the Warriors who actually provided the funds to build this place. Terrible Failure at their mission and failure at service. Kokos and Hale Koa management needs to take a hard look at themselves and come up with more military customer friendly service guidelines and put out the right information on the phone to begin with.
The Skinny: Delicious buffet-style food that doesn't taste like a buffet with beautiful view of Waikiki Beach.
Attended Sunday Brunch; we got seated right away. Our seating was on the outside lanai. There was a breeze but it did get a little hot. We did have a big party and it looked like they sit the larger parties outside. There was live music but you can hear or view it from outside. Outside is not a bad deal but inside would provide the most comfort. The food was actually pretty good for the price. A great assortment of breakfast items along with a carving station of smoked ham and prime rib. Action stations also includes a sushi bar and omlet station. If your from the islands you can find your local favorites such as poi, poke and sashimi also. The fish was fresh and I really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the sushi from the sushi bar where they can make you hand rolls to order. Snow crab was avaible however it's served on ice; not hot or steamed. The best part they give you a complementary to ticket for a mimosa. If you plan on having more just buy the bottle of champagne it's only $15! The juice is self serve. Definitely wouldn't mind going back.
