Alles etwas altbacken, zurückgeblieben und könnte deutlich besser gepflegt werden. Kartenzahlung nicht möglich, das muss wirklich nicht sein. Alle Servicekräfte sind aber sehr freundlich.

Beautiful rustic hotel in a quiet corner of the island. You could see the water from our balcony in two directions. The location is lovely, there is a boat launch associated with the hotel just across the way where you can rent a row boat to take out, or you can walk five minutes down the road to a gin distillery and do a tasting (and if you're lucky enough to come in the right season, pick blackberries on the side of the road as you walk there). I would definitely recommend either bringing a bike or renting one (a lot of the local rental places will drop off and pick up bikes at the hotel). Biking is definitely the way to get around, all the roads that have any kind of traffic have bike paths and everything is smoothly paved.As for the hotel itself, the staff was super friendly. I was with German speakers so the language wasn't a problem, but plenty of the staff spoke English so I think I would have gotten by without as well. We rented an apartment above the restaurant, but the restaurant's outdoor seating was sort of tucked way to the side and behind us so while we did smell dinner cooking when it got to be evening and we were sitting on the balcony (the food was excellent every time we ate there and smelled good as well) we never really heard any of the other guests. We ended up generally fending for ourselves when it came to breakfast and lunch, the apartment came with a fully equipped kitchen and I admit I didn't know quite what to expect but it turns out they really did mean fully equipped, I think there was even an electric mixer in case somebody wanted to bake a cake.If I could say one thing it's that we were there in the heat of August and the place is near the water so on evenings when there isn't a lot of wind the mesquites can be quite bad. All the windows had screens, but if you plan on sitting outside and watching the sun go down, I'd advise bringing bug spray just in case.
