We are visiting from Cali and had already tried the typical Chicago food so wanted some variety. Yelped and this place had some decent reviews. Unfortunately it missed the mark for us. Noodles were a bit bland, and the chili chicken was literally half chili and chicken. See the pic as proof. Flavor of the chicken was okay. The dumplings were not to our liking either. Green beans were good. We ordered take out so can't say much about the service or ambiance other than the person that took the order over the phone was ver nice. When visiting again, will stick to the traditional foods and wait till I return home for our favorites.

I came to Lao Sze Chuan yesterday and ordered to-go via phone order. When I arrived, they were about tot close. Few staff were cleaning tables and floor. I quickly grabbed my food and then head back to home. Chilly fried chicken: portion is very small, chicken portion is very small. The feel is like I ate few fried dough but coated with sze chuan chilly sauce. Stir fried beans: flavor is good. This is the only dish I'm ok with. Chicken fried rice: flavor is ok. But again, no chicken. I feel they cheap out meat ingredient. I don't really appreciate that. I wouldn't consider to come back again.
