Si por un casual te encuentras cerca de Crown Heights, puedes ir a este restaurante. Muchos de sus invitados dicen que los camareros te sirven aquí un filete famoso. Muchos visitan MarkJoseph para saborear sus singulares brownie con helado sundae, su sorprendente tarta de lima y su bien trabajada tarta de queso. Setting is intimate and service is excellent. Diane was all smiles and minutely attentive, even making a kiddie cup for our 3 year old. The guys had been into Red Breast whiskey lately and MJ carries it. Complex and smooth, the night was already off to a great start. The thing about eating with super particular people- you know you are going to get a top notch meal. We started with Casino clams, jumbo shrimp cocktail, crabcakes and their famous thick cut bacon, whose fat to meat ratio was like a work of Art- I counted 6 perfect layers. We shared 2 porters- medium and medium-rare with basically all their sides. Being one to love a crimson steak I was beside myself that MJ tend to undercook their steak. The medium still had a strong pink center and med-rare was almost exactly how my preferred steak would look. The steak was bursting with buttery soft juices and tender with just a hint of agedness. I especially  vied for the fatty darkened edges with more char. I really appreciated how Diane and her team came around to serve each of us a portion of steak (as with the bacon) and all the sides that followed straight behind. The mushrooms. The fresh cut fried red onion rings. The popeye-green spinach where the "cream" seemed to be missing yet tasted like the most silky, homemade creamy spinach. The 2 plates of thick cut, extra-fried fries. Hash may have been the only side that wasn't stand-out, but then again- hash has never been my thing. And the "kiddie" platter of panko breaded chicken fingers with fries was equally delectable as it was large enough to be shared by the table. A surprise birthday candle set atop ice cream and berries swirl platter with song and embarrassment completed the night.
My friend brought me here for my bday dinner. Wow, it was amazing! Their steak sauce blew me away.
Excellent steak house off the beaten path, just a few blocks from the seaport! I went in for lunch a couple of Fridays ago for restaurant week with my sister and I'm so happy I did. The restaurant is clean, dimly it (my fav), well decorated, and doesn't seem as stiff as some other steak houses I've been too. There's a bar where you can grab a drink and watch the game without lurking over someone's table, which is nice and there is dining room seating for small and large groups. I made a ressy for 12:15 and we were seated right away and given menus. My sis and I scanned the menu quickly and knew what we wanted instantly since the restaurant week menu is prefixed. As soon as the waiter came to us we told him we were going to do restaurant week and he kind of scoffed at us and said "no way really" very sarcastically, which was a turn off (don't judge me, dude I'm still a paying custy!). We awkwardly laughed and put in our order which was identical for the most part; baked clams, filet mignon (medium), and chocolate ice cream (for me). We were served 4 lovely lightly breaded baked clams that were piping hot, and a sloppy entree dish with a delectable piece of filet mignon and mashed potatoes. I know its restaurant week but come on put some effort into the plating, I'm not asking for my name written in steak sauce or anything just a dish prepared with love! Aside from the effortless plating (that I can't get over), the steak was great, it was like cutting into butter, and the mashed were super creamy and nicely seasoned. I used a bit of their steak sauce, which has a strong tomato base, I say that because I didn't like it at first, but then it grew on me and I put it on everything.   The ice cream was DELISH, I'm not sure if they make their own whip cream or if its a brand, whatever it was I cannot stop thinking about. The whipped was so creamy and rich, it really complemented the chocolate scoop of ice cream that I practically inhaled. 4-stars for poor plating and poor manners by the waiter, but overall a must-try!
