Dropped in for lunch the other day. The interior wasn't that well-lit and quite stuffy. I ordered the Fried Fish Curry (Nga Ataoba), Manipuri Steamed Rice (sticky rice), and Singju. The Singju arrived first and was quite authentic-tasting, but not as spicy as most Manipuri dishes usually are. Basically, I was able to eat it without any problems. The rice and fish curry came later-- The waiter was knowledgeable enough to tell me that they used Rohu for the fried fish curry, so I knew there would be more bones. They have another mashed fish curry for which they use Basa, which has fewer bones and is easier to eat. When I first tasted the fish, I thought they might have added some instant noodles masala-- it tasted like that. haha. But I think it's just the different masalas and herbs that Manipuri cuisine uses. It tasted quite good, in fact, I think I got the whole fish, minus the head. There were enough pieces to call it a proper fish curry. Fried Fish Curry - Rs. 240 Steamed Rice - Rs. 90 Manipuri Salad - Rs. 140 The bill came to Rs. 470, which is acceptable. What could be improved: 1) Better lighting and circulation indoors. The AC was on, but it was still quite warm inside. 2) More northeastern options on the menu. There were not many options when it came to starters and side dishes. Kid-friendliness: There was a family with kids when I visited, so you can definitely take your kids. There might not be enough space for them to run around, though. Wheelchair accessibility: Not available. It's on the first floor of a building and there are only stairs to go up.
