A nice place for an aperitif in Brera. The aperitif is not very abundant but the place is worth it. I would happily stay here again Price per person: €10–20 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Don't go here. The food regular and they only think in the business. If you go alone, only one person they don't have table for you, although all the tables are free. I can give my opinion of the food, because when i went with my wife, there are two of us, then they give us a table. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Have a drink here, perhaps, but certainly do not eat. The bar initially attracts: nice interior, pleasant colors, contemporary feel. Around noon we were here, there were three other couples and we picked a table to order a brunch dish for each of us. Brunch means over here your dish comes with juice, coffee, yoghurt and a few small danish. The pancakes with bacon and syrup was outright terrible. We think there is no cook at Il Bar in Via Mercato: the pancakes were pre-made, cold moreover, and so was the bacon. For €30 pancakes from the supermarket, that is not acceptable. And why to serve so many? Five thick, chewy, cold premade pancakes, who can eat that, let alone with the other food served along with them? We mentioned to the waitress that the food is cold. She took it away, and someone in the kitchen microwaved the pancakes, without even taking them off the plate. If there is a chef in this place, it is someone without any self-esteem. When the plate was served again to us, indeed the pancakes were now warm... But did they get any better? They were only chewier, and the bacon was now burnt black. Neither one of us could eat this and we asked the waitress to take the dish off our table. The "burrata with vegetables" does not contain any vegetables, unless you would consider a few thin slices of green chili pepper. There are lettuce leaves, but that is not vegetables, or is it? There is also melon, a few very small pieces at least, but we don't cetegorize melon as a vegetable either. The burrata was sour. We could not decide wether it was stale, or simply of an inferior quality. I mentioned the other couples in the first paragraph of this review, and that was not without a reason. At one table they had something like parmaham, but the woman obviously did not like it. She left it all on her plate. Another couple left without finishing even the first bites of their food. They had smoked salmon and did not like it at all. We are convinced that there is no trained, qualified chef at Il Bar in Via Mercato, so we do not recommend to order any food. Instead, have a cocktail; hopefully it will be better than the food. We did not try the drinks though: we have lost our interest in this place after our brunch experience. Price per person: €30–40 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
