Very pleasant atmosphere with a beautiful view of Hong Kong harbor (massive windows). Quiet, it's so easy to hear conversation . The service was excellent and the food was good for a fair price. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: HK$400–450 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Wanted a high tea with a nice harbour view before we left Hong Kong, so we booked a spot for two at 11:30AM at Paper Moon because it was the only time they had left during the day time. We got there and asked for the high tea set before looking at the menu but our waiter seemed to have been offended and said in a not so nice tone that high tea doesn't start until 2PM so we can only order from this set lunch set now. Maybe it's just Cantonese people speaking English, as it's not their first language, so the tone from Cantonese gets transferred over and maybe he didn't actually mean it in a rude way-- anyways, that already created a bad first impression for me. I'm also to speak perfect Cantonese and I tried speaking it to him (hoping it'll be more friendly) but he decided to go ahead and speak English and I honestly didn't understand him as well so that made the ordering procedure kind of annoying as well. It was super hot that day, so we sadly did not get to sit outside. We still got to sit by the window, but it was less of the skyline view and more of just the ocean-- second disappointment. Food was okay. It was (I believe) $478 HKD per person for their set lunch meal that runs from 11AM-2PM. That's around $61 USD for some very mediocre lunch. Their appetizers were solid. You had a charcuterie or seafood plate to choose from. Both were not bad, but I wouldn't called it great. The main course was slightly disappointing because we ordered a truffle penne but came out as macaroni. It also tasted like a macaroni and cheese more than whatever they were trying to advertise it as. It was overly salty. The steak was not bad--sauce made it better. The texture wasn't perfected but because I have a lot of steak back home I can tell this was pretty decent. Desserts were my favourite! The tiramisu didn't look that great at first glance but it's hand down one of the best I've had. It was the perfect balance of everything and not too sweet. Too little of a portion ;) I'd come back to visit just to try more. Drinks-- you had to order on the side. They charge you either for bottled sparkling or still water. We chose two random cocktails and a mock tail from their menu and all turned out to be equally delicious and pleasant to the eye. For the rest of the time, service got a little better. Our server came back to check on us a few times which I liked. He still continued speaking English even though I heard him speaking Cantonese to other tables. Then there was another waiter who helped around the entire restaurant. No smiles, no communication. He just did his job of standing uncomfortably close (he was trying to be attentive) and trying to clean dishes off our table whenever we're done with one thing. I like attentive waiters but not when you're not communicating and super close-- I didn't enjoy it when it happened during the latter half of our meal. In my heart, this place started at a 2.5 and by then end of the meal it was a splice 3.5. I wish I could give that half star but it's not available on yelp. Would I come back? Probably for the high tea but not for their set lunch menu. I think it could've easily been a four if service was up to par a little bit more in the initial stage. I base a huge portion of my rating from customer service and sadly I think that's where it lost most of its points for me.
