Cob seafood salad was a great surprise.
Great Wednesday all day happy hour! Good prices, great food. Too bad that are closing! Will be.missed!
Cocktails, food, service: perfect. My friend and I shared 4 cocktails and another 2 shots of bourbon we hadn't tried. The cocktails were the Jalaberry Strawpeño, Smoked Old Fashioned, French Squeezed, and Mule Over It. It was so much fun to begin the evening with these delicious crafted cocktails. They were all well-balanced, fresh, nicely presented. We had the hamachi crudo that came beautifully plated. The fish was fresh, was nuanced with mezcal, cucumbers, and chili's, and came alive with a hint of citrus. For our entrees, we shared the snapper and branzino. The snapper did not disappoint. It was perfectly cooked (not over cooked) and paired nicely with the gremolata. The star of the night was the branzino Baja style. Being a native San Diegan that frequents all parts of Mexico, I know good fish tacos.  The branzino was next level, make your own fish tacos. We couldn't believe how amazing and innovative it was!!! We hadn't read the description, so we were surprised it came with slightly charred-edge tortillas and a mango pico de gallo. Every bite was like "Whoa, this is so good!!!"  As diners, we appreciated that we were attended to very well, yet don't remember the server in particular.  That is service at its finest. When I dine, I'm interested in catching up with loved ones, so I like when the food and drink move swiftly and quietly, without the server interjecting too much personality into my experience. Final touch--the general manager paid us a visit to make sure we were enjoying everything, and was helpful and knowledgeable about the characteristics of the different bourbons and wines they offered.  We had no regrets sipping on the bourbons he recommended.  Because of our meal at Searsucker Del Mar, we had a lovely night, despite the campy movie we watched afterward. A+
