When we arrived at 12:30 for lunch, I was told all the outdoor tables (about 10) were booked solid. It is true that there was no empty table at that moment. However, I felt I was lied to since some folks left and some folks sat down at the empty ones after we were seated inside (there were four tables). Strike one. I really wanted to try Mennifischli (background: Meefischli are small fried fish from the Main and a Main Franconian specialty. Traditionally, the fish shouldn't be bigger than the little finger of the statue of Saint Kilian on the Würzburg Main Bridge), but it wasn't meant to be today. It was already sold out by the time we got here. They must not prepare too many fish for lunch though they are their house specialty according to their web page. Strike two. I still wanted to try some seafood, so I ordered Schollenfilet (plaice--type of right-eyed flat fish from the North Sea) mit kartofelsalat und gemüsesalat. Fish was good...very mildly flavored. Potato salad had good amount of mustard, I think. Finely chopped pickles and bacon pieces added texture. Vegetable (side) salad--underneath the top lettuce layer were shredded carrots, vinegared cabbage (coleslaw), red peppers and cucumbers. They were good. My wife enjoyed her bratwurst. They turned out to be too much for her, so I got to have some of them. Overall successful dining here. Food was good, but not great. Service was good except one of the servers was sort of rude who wouldn't want us to wait for a table outside (it may have been the language-barrier thing).
