I REALLY wanted to love this place.  I gave the stars Bc the best thing we had was the beef fried rice.  My husband and I appreciated the fact that they were even open when it flooded yesterday.  Most places were closed, so we were thankful. Someone suggested this place to me, but I am not sure what happened, but we were not impressed at all.  We ate all of our food... but it definitely was not what I expected.  I mentioned to someone that I love Pepper Twins and was told this place is way better.  I would say, I cannot even compare the two.  They are two totally and very different Chinese restaurants. We ordered the lamb chops, fried rice and pepper beef.  We thought the beef would be crispy and not so sweet and a ton of sauce.  But our least fav was the lamb chops.  I thought it would be cooked where they were charred, so the fat isn't so soft.  It did not have an ounce salt, nor did it taste fresh.  I had to ask for salt.  Again, the pepper beef is not what I expected and too sweet for my taste buds. To make matters worse, I unfortunately could not keep my food down when I got home.  Not sure why ?? Again, I wanted to love it, but I did not.  Would I drive all the way to Midtown for them??  Do not think I would  !!
The food was okay. We had a party of 20. The server decided to hand us a piece of paper and pen so we could write down our own orders. We were shocked that he wasn't taking our orders. After asking him politely to take our orders. He decided to comply and slapped a 25% gratuity at the end. this was our first time here and I would never go back. With large parties I would see a 18% gratuity but never seen a 25% plus asking us to write our orders. I would give this place a 0 if I could.
The best little hole in the wall for chinese food in downtown.  Food is freshly made, it has a small kick to it. the place is also has a very nice interior
