Really good home made ravioli!
Certified (yes, really) Neapolitan pizzeria. A bit out of the way and slightly worn out interior, but well worth the minor detour because the pizzas are simply excellent!Note that card payments only work with Danish banks, fortunately an ATM is quite literally around the corner.
Their house white wine was sweet, without depth and impossible to enjoy. The pizzas seemed authentic and the squid salad was also good. The waitress at work was smiling and doing her best to please, given the constraints put forward by the owner. The defining moment of the evening, however, had nothing to do with the food per se. My wife, my 8-year old daughter and myself came here for the first time on this Thursday evening, intending to have a great family outing. There were very few other people in the restaurant (5-8). We ordered wine, beer and soda and a kid's pizza for our daughter. As for ourselves, we really would have been fine sharing a pizza, but we noticed an exclamation mark on the menu stating that pizzas were intended for ONE person only and could NOT be shared. OK then, not to be stingy, we ordered a squid salad (which cost more than most pizzas) and a pizza and figured that everybody should then be happy. Squid salad came, which we shared. Next came the pizza on a single plate. I asked for a second plate so we could share, but was told by the smiling waitress that pizzas could NOT be shared. OK, we then placed the pizza on the middle of the table and ate from there. Next thing you know, the owner is standing at our table lecturing us that we are no one special, so we shouldn't expect to get granted privileges that other guests couldn't have! I kid you not!! He told me that if I wanted to eat pizza, I could order another and then bring home whatever I couldn't eat. I proceeded to push the pizza over to my wife, which seemed to appease him. Shortly thereafter, we asked for a cardboard tray to take home the remainder. Everybody lost on this deal: the restaurant owner's immediate loss was the additional cardboard tray he provided., and he will also for certain miss out on any future revenue stream from our little family. On our side, we felt bad about getting lectured in public by a stranger on how to eat the food that we were paying for - in front of our daughter. No thank you - no pizza, and certainly not this, is good enough for me to make it worth it listening to such an earful. But now that we know that, we COULD of course plan ahead - if we place the right types of orders in the future we would spend less money per person that we did AND be in 100% compliance with the restaurant policy.
