Best ice cream in Orange County, possibly anywhere. So fresh, it's insane how good it is. All of the ice cream is made fresh in house and the owner is just great. Highly recommend the pistachio and the salted caramel!!

The organic strawberry was delicious. Hope Summerland will expand to all organic flavors! Coffee gelato could be stronger in flavor. Will return.

The organic lemon zest at Summerland Artisanal Creamery was delicious. It tasted light and more sherbert-y. The storefront itself was not fancy unlike the name's suggestion. It is an older looking ice cream shop compared to its counterparts that line the marina side of Balboa Peninsula. My man and I visited on a Sunday night in February and it wasn't busy at all. No one was inside so we didn't have to wait to order. Service was meh, but my transaction was quick and we took our ice cream to go so I wasn't too bothered. *Be prepared to pay cash. When I visited, there was a sign on the register that said they require a minimum spend of $10 for credit card transactions. Parking: metered street parking and a paid lot across the street.
