Been a while since I visited and think they have lost the plot. I had a Louis brekky fairly standard offering with added bacon for $26 you have to be kidding. Quality nothing special and quantity far from expected, 1 roast tomatoe, 2 mushrooms, 2 poached eggs, a tiny piece of halumi (literally tiny) 1 eye of bacon and a sprinkle of spinach with 1 slice of untoasted bread.... Please visit your competitors for a reality check. You could be amazing but find your still very expensive for poor quality food. Upside coffee was fantastic and service was ok ????

This place has changed hands since I was here last, it no longer has a funky eclectic furniture and decor store operation out the back, but it is now a fringe venue - so look out for this place in Mad March! The food and coffee at My Friend Louis is exceptional - Louis is definitely my friend with eggs like that. The restaurant has a fun and interesting vibe with all of its ver original furnishings, while the garden out back is the real star - feeling a bit 'down the rabbit hole'. Well worth spending a Sunday morning, have breakfast here then browse the antique stores along Magill road.

Disappointing overall. Went on a Saturday arvo and it was surprisingly quiet for a sunny afternoon. Only 2 other groups eating- however it still took over 40 minutes for a few coffees and juices. The man made a mistake on our order and when he refused that it was his mistake, and said no you asked for this(despite repeating our order 2 times to him) he seemed angry that we questioned him. We just took it anyway. Coffee was weak and milky. And the tables and chairs could do with a paint and a screw driver they were rickety and gave us splinters. Service needs to be improved.
