Si deseas probar recetas de las cocinas israelí y mediterránea, no pierdas la oportunidad de visitar este restaurante. Degustar su famoso hummus, su bien trabajado salmón ahumado o sus extraordinarios huevos shakshuka es, sin duda, una estupenda idea. Si todavía no has probado la casera tostada francesa, el bien preparado pastel halva o el atrayente yogur de Zizi Limona, entonces no has disfrutado aún de la vida.

3 of us showed up for dinner on Sept 1st to find the place shut down. Would have been nice for them to post on their website or Facebook...even maybe leave a message for cutomers that call about them moving so that customers don't just show up and find the place closed down with a sign announcing a move. Professionalism is clearly not their strong suit. I'd been calling for days...no answer. I even left a message on Google for them and no one bothered to get back to me. Rude all around. 3 of us showed up for dinner on Sept 1st to find this scenario. there was also another couple that was just as annoyed as us when they showed up. Wouldn't even consider going to the new location in Chelsea based on this experience.

Very very disappointed! This is one of my favorite brunch places in the city and I have friends visiting from Italy so I really wanted to take them. I was trying to call yesterday (saturday august 31st) to find out the time that brunch is served until, however the number was not working. I then called the number the website gives for private events. No one answered however a lady called back. I told her that I just have a general inquiry but the main number wasn't working. She said they were doing a little work at the location and she thinks it may be affecting the phone line. I proceeded to ask her how late they serve brunch tomorrow (Sunday sept 1st). She said they are open until 4 and then reopen at 5 for dinner and that until 4 they serve brunch. I thanked her, called my friends, and made plans to meet downtown and then take them into Brooklyn. So that was what we did today, only to get all the way there from Manhattan to find out it is closed. Looking into the window it looked as if they were doing some serious renovations, not "a little work" as the lady told me. I do not know why the lady would not have told me that it was closed. Either she was just incompetent and not thinking, or she does not know that the restaurant is closed for renovations. If it is the latter then it signifies a bigger problem. For the event planner to not know that they are closed shows a complete lack of internal communication and an overall lack of professionalism! I'm not sure I will be returning after this experience :-(

As a Mediterranean I'm always on the search of new delicious Mediterranean restaurants. Zizi Limona is by far my favorite! Always fresh, exciting and creative. The staff is positive, knowledgeable and very welcoming. They are always whiling to adjust my dishes (I'm vegan) and give me good recommendations so I wont feel left out on the sharing table. Don't miss the new eggplant dish, its outstanding. Great wine selection and the soundtrack is always spot on! Highly recommended
