American West, the nurturing ground for jazz and rock music, home of many developers and innovators, a testing ground for new and exciting things - all this doesn't even describe the city in full. A hub of progress and change like that is ever-shifting, ever-developing, and ever-diversifying. Naturally, this spreads to different types of businesses, and traditions, fasions, trends, and habits form among the people who live here or visit Seattle. Here's a little list of recommendations regarding one of the available food and drink fashions - craft beer.

The first entry on our list is hailed as "a purveyor of award-winning beers", and this reputations seems to be well-deserved.

The place is a family-friendly brewery focused on socializing and providing the drink that, according to the founders, is meant to bring people together. The spacious taproom is hardly ever empty, and the food served is exactly what a friendly beer drinker would want - pizza, different types of meat, burgers, etc. It's cosy in all the important aspects, clean, and very dedicated to the stated goal of providing the best craft beer. They even advertise the fact that the people making the beer are actual scientific professionals.

All in all, a very fitting brewery for Seattle.

Next on the list is a venue that has been around for a quarter of a century.

Todd Carden and Brent Norton created Elliott Bay Brewing Co. in 1997, and it has been one of the most prominent places for beer and a good time ever since. The brewery is family-friendly and focuses on service and quality. They serve various salads and stews, as well as chicken and a variety of snacks with their beer, and the ensemble is very attractive to casual guests and potential regulars from the area.

This is another good pick for an evening of beer-drinking relaxation without extremes.

Elysian Capitol Hill Brewery
#38 of 2058 pubs & bars in Seattle, USA
1221 E Pike St, Seattle, Washington, USA
Closed until 11AM

This one is part of a franchise, and most people actually recommend the Capitol Hill outlet specifically.

The chain started under a different name back in 1995, and the Capitol Hill brewery was the first of four locations where, to this day, not only can people enjoy great beer, but the menu is actually good enough on its own merit. Soups, salads, various meats, including lamb, accompany the craft beer made and sold in a slightly old-school but sleek manner. Lots of events take place here regularly, and the place even has its own line of merchandise.

The venue is perfect for those who wish to have a little more fun or eat something a little more serious with their beer.

The Masonry

The owners of this place claim that a perfect beer is a product of passionate people, and it's hard to disagree with them.

This venue is very good for eating, drinking, and talking. They put even more emphasis on the food since The Masonry is not strictly a brewery as it also has wine. Pizzas and other Italian dishes are available, as well as cheeses and soups. The atmosphere is always calm and relaxing, so it's hardly a partying joining, but no one's complaining.

So, if you're in the mood for a good meal and a good beer to go with it, this is your choice.

The next place on our list was named the best local brewery in 2019, and there's a reason for that.

The owners are surprisingly humble and claim that they only want one thing - to make good beer and keep their customers happy. The food menu certainly supports this claim, with a variety of beers, sweet desserts, quick snacks, and chicken or fish beverages to accompany a mostly drinking experience.

Sweet, to the point, and very, very competent - that's the vibe you get here.

6. Watershed Pub & Kitchen

Watershed Pub & Kitchen

They say that this pub served the finest craft beers available. It's located off the beaten path of a regular beer enjoyer, so checking this claim is a must.

One thing you'll learn is that the owners really have extensive knowledge, experience and relationships within the craft beer industry, which makes their product one of the more refined and classy among the offerings on the list. The staff is top-notch, they even have in-house craft beer training certification. The food compliments the establishment, with pizzas, salads, streaks, and pasta in abundance.

A selection of wines, liquors, ciders and non-alcoholic beverages is a pleasant bonus if you're not really in the mood for a beer at the moment. A win-win in any scenario.

The Pike Brewing Company

At the southern tip of the Pike Place Market is a little brewery that can knock many big ones out of the park, if you pardon the pun.

Working since 1989, the venue is as distinguished as its age suggests. Light beers, ambers, or stout - a drink for every taste can be found under its roof, and the experience is quite different each time you visit, as the owners and the staff always try to bring something new to the table. Not only figuratively - the menu has chips, burgers, cheeses, and pies.

This place is just right for anyone who discovered it when walking through Pike Place Market.

The next location on our list is very charming in how unpretentious it is.

The first thing you'll notice is that it's also a bottle shop, which is befitting a place serving craft beer. Light snacks are available to accompany the beer, but it really takes center stage this time. All kinds, all packages, all amounts - you can hardly fail when picking your beer here. The clean calm design of the interior benefits the meditative drinking experience that awaits a staying customer.

All in all, if you want to drink, this is the spot that hits the spot.

Ounces Taproom & Beer Garden
#2 of 2275 fast food in Seattle, USA
3809 Delridge Wy SW, Seattle, Washington, USA
Closed until 4PM

A speciality taproom and beer garden is just what this list needs.

The beer garden part is not just for a fancy title. Located just off the West Seattle Bridge in the Youngstown neighbourhood on Delridge, the venue is mostly a large open space where the staff serve micro-brews, wine, and cider on 30+ rotating taps. Chicken, sandwiches, and fries are available, the selection befitting a beer garden in terms of the picnic-like quality of the overall experience.

This one is for those who want to take care of their karma and have a relaxing open-air session.

Originally, the last but not the least location on our list was picked because of the interesting name. There is a reason to stay other than that, however.

This reason is, of course, the fact that they try to bring mirror design to everything. From labels and names that are visually reflected off each other to the actual roster of food and drink. the obvious beer of all kinds and colours is served with an option to eat exotic dumplings, pork tamales can be found next to duck or jambalaya. It's all very intricate at first glance but actually quite comfortable.

Outdoor seating and the cosy atmosphere ensured by the staff makes this place a universally interesting brewery that can offer something to everyone.

By now it should be pretty obvious that the main problem with craft beer breweries in Seattle is that there are so many of them that picking one is a really tough challenge. Exploring the city and the tremendous amounts of comfort and fun it has to offer is probably one of the activities any visitor should anticipate.
