Ven a por unos sabrosos raviolis de champiñones, unos bien trabajados tortellini o unos generosos espaguetis a la carbonara si tienes hambre. *****3.5/5***** Amerigo Italian Restaurant, located in MidTown Nashville is the perfect place for a rainy afternoon lunch drop in. The restaurant is located right downtown with a good amount of free parking behind the building. The interior is simple, with large glass windows giving you a view of the bustling road right outside. Our service was wonderful, however the food was hit and miss. We had some absolutely spectacular dishes, but also some that were really underwhelming. We started our meal by sharing three appetizers: Oven Roasted Artichoke Cheese Dip, Cheese Fritters, and Calamari Fritti. The stand out of the three was the Artichoke Cheese Dip. Ingredients include: artichoke, tomato, scallion, swiss, parmesan, and focaccia crisps. I am not a huge artichoke lover, but this dip was stringy and cheesy and had a subtle artichoke flavor that someone who doesn't usually like artichokes would still enjoy. The crisps tasted like a giant crouton and were the perfect way to scoop up the dip. This dish is one I would definitely have again. Unfortunately the other two appetizers I wouldn't have again. Calamari is a notoriously hard dish to get right, and I had hope it would be nice and crispy and crunchy here but it wasn't. It was the rubbery chewy texture that gives Calamari a bad name. I had a few pieces then ultimately left the dish alone. The least enjoyable however was the Cheese Fritters. The cheese inside the fritters had a sour taste (not spoiled per say, but just sour), and this was mixed with a drowning amount of honey mustard served under the cheese fritters that made the dish even more sour and almost inedible. Sour was just not the experience we expected when ordering an appetizer of Cheese Fritters. I would stay away from this dish. However, moving on, I will say the pasta dish was easily one of the Top 5 Pasta dishes I have ever had in my life. We had the Fettuccini Imperial, and I would go back and eat it every day if I could. Served with grilled chicken, italian bacon, mushrooms, and a parmesan cream sauce, this was the creamiest smoothest pasta I've had in a long time. The pasta (although not hand made, I asked) tasted like it had been made just minutes before being brought to our table. The noodles were silky and smooth and perfect. And the Parmesan cream sauce was one of the best sauces I have ever had, it was so creamy I wanted to just lick the plate when there was no pasta left. I have never been a huge fan of red sauce, so I've had a lot of cream sauces but never one so heavy, flavorful, and hardy. So, although the appetizers were pretty hit or miss, if you're going for the pasta, I wouldn't pass up a trip to Amerigo's in MidTown and I look forward to going back to have another bowl of the immaculate Fettuccini Imperial!

I'm sorry, however, to learn that some of your appetizers fell short of expectations. Please know that we are always happy to replace or take care of any dish that you do not care for, as guest satisfaction is of utmost importance to us. The cheese fritters in particular are typically a very popular one, so it is disappointing to learn that you did not care for it.
