Excellent place for dinner. The food is amazing. The parfait was one of the best I've ever had. Very interesting toppings on the oysters which were quite nice. Price per person: A$200+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Chicken Liver Parfait

We chose the Glass House for my 84 y.o Mother in Law's birthday, pre- dinner cocktail, however was very disappointed. Beginning with no help to move chairs to accommodate her wheelchair. Having been seated for several minutes, and receiving no service, (at 4:45 and only one other table filled with 4 people already with drinks and at least 3 staff on) I then had to go to the bar to request menu's. We were brought 1 menu for a table of 5. Upon requested 5 got told " we tend to run out of menus" ! I mean this is 4:45pm, we are the 2nd table, just wanting the menu for a few minutes to choose a cocktail each! I said "we just need them for a few minutes", so the young water in a very noticeably un-ironed white shirt, brought us 5 menus. Whilst their gin etc menu was extensive, there was just 10-12 cocktails to choose from, and no standard ones (no Martini, coffee espresso etc). My M-I-L asked if she could have a Japanese Slipper and got told no because they didn't have Madori. We ordered drinks, and I asked for my Jimlet (on their menu) as a long drink (added soda) and it came in a tall standard soft drink glass no lemon or any garnish, it may as well have been a cloudy apple juice for its lame appearance. I'm not sure what happened to the Chesterfield couches, excellent service, with the option if selecting virtually any cocktail, but the pink, green and beige coloured vinyl chairs, plastic veneer table tops, and terrible service is a crying shame from what was the premier bar on Hobart's waterfront. Thoroughly disappointed. Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

If you are after a high end dining experience on a fairly decent price tag that offers some of the best views in Hobart then The Glass House Hobart is a must. I recommend a minimum of two dishes per person to get the most out of it and most definitely indulge in cocktails. You won’t be disappointed.
