If you feel hungry after visiting Saint Stephen Martyr Roman Catholic Church, have a meal at this bar. 51st State serves good bison burgers and fine chicken quesadillas. Decent beer is served at this place. The friendly staff meets you at this spot all year round. The nice atmosphere will make a positive impression on visitors. Although you should keep in mind that Zomato users assigned this bar a below average rating.

They need to get rid of Lulu. She was a horrible bartender. I lost count of the shots she was taking with the same 3 patrons. Maybe this is why we had to order our drinks several times before she finally remembered to actually serve them. There were only 10 people in the bar. She served my husband warm beer. Her "I guess" attitude & shrugging her shoulders reminded me of a child. She really acted as though she was annoyed that we were ordering drinks. I guess we were interrupting the valuable time she was spending on her cell phone. She also totally messed up our bill and tried to get us to pay for someone else's who had already left on top of our own bill. I would never visit this place again if she continues to bartend here. GET RID OF HER!

Lulu was the worst bartender, she was drinking on the job. The bar was dead and she was forgetting drinks, on her phone and taking shots. We requested our drinks 4 times. She was the most unmotivated bartender Ive ever had.

Solid bar, and one of the few left in Georgetown/Foggy Bottom area with any soul. Staff is friendly and fun. Stop by and have a drink. Hang out and watch the game. Theres usually a good crowd, and you won't regret it. 51st State Burger (bison burger topped with bacon, cheese and fried onion strings) is really good. Don't listen to the reviews from millennials who complain about everything. Act like an adult and you will be treated like family.
