Stopped by for a late lunch. Food was pretty good. It was just the attitude of our server - Lela. A bit unnecessarily uppity. I asked what’s the difference was between a ‘traditional’ tekka maki roll or a tekka maki roll ? She seemed annoyed I asked for clarification. This was just the vibe with most of our interactions with her. Bill came and I asked if they took ‘Tap to Pay’ she replied yes. She dropped the bill and left us hanging for a good ten minutes. We contemplated walking out. Confused, I asked her ‘are we good here’ and she replies oh yea, I forgot. Meanwhile there are no other diners and she’s busy mindlessly cleaning up. We proceed with the tap to pay, and for whatever reason it’s not connecting. I said I’m not sure what’s going on and she snootily replies ‘well I don’t have an Apple phone or use tap to pay… ok lady… you’re in the food service industry - know your audience. Too bad she has no idea on how to use either, since she tapped it before including my gratuity. I signed the chit and added a tip but there is no way they can charge it to my card now. Oops, sorry Lela… drop the attitude and learn how to use tap to pay. Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: $40–50 Recommendation for vegetarians: Would not recommend Vegetarian offerings: Not sure Vegetarian options: No listing on menu of vegetarian or gluten free options.

For almost 20 years we have LOVED this restaurant.. The food and service have both been consistently amazing. The bartenders are really good at what they do, and the specials -along with the regular menu- make it extremely challenging to decide what to order! Delicious oysters, fish, sushi, chicken, and steak entrees… highly recommend!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I like 85 Main and I think it’s one of the better restaurants in Putnam, the only issue is that it can be inconsistent. I ordered the same meal twice in a row while I was visiting town, and the first time it was cooked absolutely perfectly. So much so, I wanted it again the next night! Unfortunately the second time, potatoes were hard and crunchy (not cooked all the way through and some were raw in the middle), chicken wasn’t cooked quite as well and was dry, and it was overall a letdown given the price and how great it was the first night. I don’t mind spending $ on good food if it’s consistently good. I’ve had other experiences in the past that were similar - the same meal isn’t as high quality a month or two later when I’m back. Price per person: $30–40
