We didn’t book and just walked in quite early around 6 pm. It was literally empty, only two of us. The waitress informed us immediately that salads and pizza were unavailable as the restaurant had planned to be off the following day hence didn’t stock. Nice ambience with background music which is not too loud. Dim lighting, with focus spotlight on the table. Service is good. Especially, it was a nice surprise to have all mains nicely split into two plates without us asking. So the photos attached are 1 meal split into two portions (except the squid in ink). Also we got 2 buckets of bread as complimentary. Ordered squid in black ink as a starter (yum!), carbonara pasta and lamb cutlets as mains. All of the food was really really tasty and incredible soft cooked lamb meat which was fantastic! Food was finger licking good. I don’t think they had to wash the plates after we were done. :) When we left there were still no other customers which was surprising. Perhaps one could argue the price is a tiny bit on a higher side. We paid 3.4K thai baht for two including 2 glasses of red wine. But it is a proper dining experience. Dear Rustam, thank you for the lengthy and raving review. Very pleased that you enjoyed your dining experience. The waitress didn’t explain herself entirely correctly. What she meant to say was that we were going to shut our doors permanently on Wednesday, hence the dishes available at the time of your visit were limited. 2020 or 2021 I visited this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation and after watching some food reviews. However, I found that the experience did not meet my expectations, particularly regarding the pasta. The cooking was inconsistent; some pieces were hard and undercooked, which was surprising since my friends had mentioned the food was better. Additionally, I encountered issues with the waitstaff, who were neither friendly nor helpful. Update (23 Dec 2024) after receiving a comment from the owner: Please note that my review is over two years and pertains to a restaurant called About Eatery, not AL Gatto Nero. I am sharing my honest experience, and I updated it after some photos were removed. If the restaurant has changed its name, ownership, or improved its food since then, that’s fine. It’s important to be fair, professional in such discussions. Your sarcastic answers reflect your maturity.

Perhaps this review got stuck in the North Pole, but we also feel is unkind and unfair to blame Santa and his team. This review is at least 1500 days too late. That is our menu from years ago, with a different team and even the deco has changed. But, thank you for time travelling and writing us this lovely letter/review. And with so many photos too! :p
