Unfortunately, I have to leave a very disappointing review. On Friday evening, my best friend and I came to enjoy a night out and expected the level of service that a rooftop at W Hotel should provide. We ordered champagne worth almost 4,000 CZK as well as some food. The staff did pour us the first glass at the beginning, but after that, nobody came back throughout the evening to refill our glasses or check if we needed anything. For a bill of this level, this was a real disappointment. The biggest disappointment was the payment process. We had to wait almost 15 minutes in line at the bar because the table in front of us was splitting their bill into multiple payments. At a venue of this standard, guests should not have to queue up to pay like in a fast-food restaurant. The bill should be handled smoothly at the table. When we mentioned at payment that we were not satisfied with the service, we only received an apology saying they were short-staffed. I understand that staffing issues can happen, but that should not become the customer’s problem — especially when paying premium prices. If you want to pride yourself on the W name and charge premium prices, it should be reflected mainly in the service and in the way you handle customer feedback. When a guest expresses dissatisfaction, some common sense and a genuine effort to resolve the situation should follow, for example through a gesture of goodwill or appropriate compensation. Unfortunately, a beautiful view alone is not enough. For the prices you charge, the overall experience and service should be at the same premium level. We had the best evening at Above Rooftop in Prague thanks to our amazing waitress Mariam. She is simply wonderful – kind, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome.
