Food was overall good. The grilled squid and oxtail were amazing. The pizza was good, but not outstanding. Plenty of outdoor seating. Service was great and she was accommodating to our large party. My only complaint is that many of the appetizer plates passed out when we first sat down were dirty.

My husband and I just spent the last week in Rome and of everything we ate, this little spot had the most delicious food we have tried to date, impossibly my entire life. We ordered Prociutto and Buff Mozz, Bruschetta w/ Brie, Walnut and arugula, and spicy salami pizza. If you could see our faces as we took our first bite, you would have seen the look of amazement. The food is so simple. The Pizza was so thin and you could tell it was cooked in a brick oven. It was so delicious that we went back the next day and had the same thing with the exception of a different pizza. This time we picked the white pizza with mushrooms. If you have an opp, google maps them and get there to experience their cooking.

Al Boschetto was on my list due to the fact that it was 2 blocks away from our hotel. I had a handy list of non-tourist trap restaurants to choose from. Since it was pouring rain on our first night, we popped our umbrellas and ran over to Al Boschetto. We were able to get a table easily, despite the fact that it was prime eating time. Al Boschetto has an antipasto buffet table - one visit to the buffet for 7€ per person. We decided to do this so we could sample a bunch of different appetizers. In particular, I really liked everything with eggplant or zucchini and disliked anything with meat in it. There was a zucchini lasagna-type dish that I particularly liked. We all opted for pasta as our mains since we were so filled up from the buffet table! I had the carbonara, my sister had the lasagna, and my mom had the seafood gnocchi. I really liked the gnocchi - I ended up eating most of my mom's pasta and had to take mine back to the hotel. All the pastas were cooked perfectly al dente, which I love. For dessert, my sister and I split a lemon sorbet, which is quite different than any lemon sorbet I've had here in the states. It's served in a cup with a straw because it's wetter than ours. You can, of course, use the spoon, but the straw worked perfect as well. It had a consistency of a semi-frozen pina colada. I actually found that I quite liked the consistency!
