Amazing fish and chips, some of the best ive ever had, amazing chowder as well. Just wish they were open more! Excellent food, the fries might be a bit too salty for me so I can probably ask for less. My favorite at this joint is the barn door slammer. I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Alava's Fish-n-Chowder in Ketchikan! The clam chowder was hands down some of the best I’ve ever tasted—rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. It’s clear they know how to do seafood right. The menu also offers a great variety of fish and other seafood options, so there’s something for everyone. What made the visit even more special was the owner. He took the time to chat with me and shared that he’s been running the place for about 15 years. You can feel the passion he has for his restaurant, and his friendliness really added to the warm, welcoming vibe. Super nice guy!
