Pedimos una tabla de quesos muy rica y los raviolis con pesto deliciosos. Pero la pasta del día con trufa, que nos la recomendó el camarero, no sabía absolutamente nada a trufa y la salsa era pura mantequilla grasosa, no sabía a nada y encima costó 40 euros, para nada su precio. Into every life some rain must fall, so it was last night at L'Altro Frenchie. It began with our server who failed to recognize my request for a glass of Cote du Rhone communicated in French, English and a direct pointing to the words on the Carte. Oh well, then the Cacio et Pepi arrived, luke warm and missing signature basics of cheese or pepper but did include massive amounts of butter and cream and as advertised, crisp artichoke that may have been dispatched from a can. The barbecue fish of the day, a lotte, was tasty but had never seen a grill, and all the pepper missing from the first course arrived in the fish. Service continued to be sketchy. We had to beg for utensils to serve the pasta and later for bread to mop up the lotte sauce. Our meal was not a one off, at the table next door, one diner had the gumption to return her pasta as "having no taste." They also had massive screw ups with the wrong items being delivered to the table. Maybe it was a bad night; maybe the chef was on vacation. Maybe our server was having a bad evening. But the result for us was a dining experience we would rather have avoided.
