Honestly the worst place I eaten in Stockholm for my 5 years living here. Food is decent I guess but definately not worth the wait which was 75 minutes for starters alone. Wouldn’t dare to order a main, as the 75 mins added to the 40 mins we waited for someone to just take our order. Stay away! Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

An inviting atmosphere welcomed us to the restaurant Amfora Vinbaren, where expectations were raised by the name and the clay vessels we passed, only to be met by a surprisingly limited wine list where the amfora wine was conspicuous by its absence, as if it were ingenuity to name an establishment for serving like that and offer a minimalist selection consisting of just two red and two white wines. Cheese and the sausage tray gave us welcome sensations. The tempura prawns, on the other hand, which we hoped would be a fitting complement to the tapas, arrived alone and without the traditional accompaniments of aioli. Upon meekly pointing out this absence, the staff seemed astonishingly keen to remedy the situation by bringing the prawns, as if they were scapegoats for the lack of accompaniments, only to return with an identical plate, equally stripped bare of expected complements. Only after further pressure was the aioli finally arranged, leaving an aftertaste of inefficiency and confusion on our palates. At dessert time, our hopes of ending the meal on a high were quickly dashed when we were presented with a simplistic dessert menu that only offered strawberry ice cream as an option. Trying to wash down the uneven taste sensations with a coffee drink turned out to be a desperate hope when we were informed that the ingredients for one were unavailable. Lacking other options, we ordered a regular americano, which turned out to be far from palatable, with a spicy flavor profile that made it almost undrinkable. In summary, the restaurant Amfora Vinbaren presents an incomplete experience that leaves much to be desired both in terms of selection and quality. The expectations raised by the evocative name collide drastically with the reality presented on the plate and in the glass. Hoping that the restaurant can find a balance between its name and its offering, we leave this visit with a sense of disappointment and wonder at the absurdity of its paradoxical existence. The staff, on the other hand, were pleasant, which enhanced our visit. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
