Everything about this hidden gem is perfect! The owners have certifications in different kinds of food, like fermented foods, and have invented their own specialties, like their enzyme brown rice! The price is extremely reasonable for the quality of the food. Everything is made in-house, organic and fresh. My only complaint is that they sell out too quickly! Love this place! I got the Nori Bento Enzyme Brown Rice and it tasted amazing! They’re really passionate about the way they cook the brown rice so it tastes good, (almost as terrific as white rice) yet is still good for you. The overall mix of flavors within the bento box was also very tasty and well balanced. Additionally, the owners were very knowledgeable and welcoming and provided a very nice dining experience. True hole in the wall hidden gem in the heart of Capitol Hill. The bento box was fresh, delicious, and made with love. I am a brown rice hater but the ladies recommended I get the brown rice set and it was amazing. What we ordered: Soup - It was flavorful, full of vegetables, and not too salty. It’s a hearty soup and perfect for the cold weather. Tuna onigiri w/ brown rice - I love onigiris but feel like I’m eating empty carbs, especially when it’s anemic in the filling. The onigiri was filled with tuna and the brown rice makes it a much healthier option. Bento - All the pickled vegetables sides were delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked. I love the little dessert with the apples and mascarpone cream in the middle. The owners were so friendly and helpful. They even gave my dog a treat. This location has a pretty high turnover but hopefully Anbai is here to stay. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
