If it weren't for the really tasty bakes, I would have awarded nil point solely based on service. The jam tarts and scamps are particularly amazing but the attitude of the women who are behind the counter is unfortunately appalling. On each occasion I felt like a burden. It is like they don't care about non-locals whatsoever even though said non-locals visit periodically and continue to go there. I noticed that there is a huge difference in their attitude towards different people. One minute they will be laughing and joking with one person, then look at you with a face like thunder. Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Apparently it’s very problematic to request half a dozen rolls at this bakery when they’re already packaged in batches of 4 It’s equally problematic, it seems, to have the audacity to ask if any of their cakes/biscuits are vegan. My query was met with a curt ‘no’. Of course I wasn’t deterred by this rudeness. On checking, several of their packaged biscuits and flapjacks were indeed suitable for vegans. I wasn’t about to buy anything at this point, but I felt compelled to counter her ignorance and inform her of the error of her ways. Vegans are as vegans do after all Price per person: £1–10
