My husband and I decided to grab dinner at Applebee’s before going to a movie around 7:10 PM. We arrived around 5:45 PM thinking we’d have plenty of time to enjoy some drinks and dinner, but we had no idea the experience would take over an hour and a half. The restaurant was not overly crowded, yet everything from the start was disappointing. We were seated in a booth that felt awkward and uncomfortable, like you were sitting in a hole with the table way too high above you. After being seated, our waitress took our drink order and then completely disappeared. The drinks were already sitting at the bar waiting, but it still took forever to get them. It then took around 30 minutes just for her to come back and take our food order, and another 30 minutes for the food itself to arrive. When the food finally came out, we weren’t given silverware, utensils, or even straws. By the time we actually got to eat, the food itself was awful. The chicken tasted like lighter fluid, my grilled chicken breast was raw in the middle, and the broccoli was still hard and undercooked. The waitress barely checked on us and only came back near the end to ask if we needed anything, which by then didn’t even matter. We paid on the table kiosk and left. We normally tip, but the service and food quality were so poor that we didn’t leave one this time. On top of everything else, the restaurant itself felt dirty. The menus were sticky and disgusting, and overall the whole place just felt nasty. Very disappointing experience. Between the terrible service, long wait times, poor food quality, and cleanliness issues, we probably will not be returning. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
