Oh my God!! I’ve never been treated like this in my 70+ years! We had reservations for 8pm (we believed this would be fine since their website stated they were open till 10:30pm. We arrived at the appointed time and the four of us ordered drinks from the bar. We found our reserved seats and enjoyed our drinks. The waiter came around about 8:30 and told us it was last call for food. We ordered another cheese tray and some Turkish bread. Then around 8:45 they told us it was last call for drinks. We had just ordered a bottle of wine and 2 more cocktails. Then security came and told us we needed to be finished by 9pm and out the door because they were closing. We told him we just ordered the wine and drinks and would want to take them to our room of which we were staying for 6 days. We were told that was not allowed!! We paid for the drinks, the wine and the food but couldn’t take them to our room in the hotel?? What the hell!! We left the area and got on the elevator with our drinks and the food so we could finish it up in our room. The security stopped us and would not let us leave the bar area with our purchases. He basically held us hostage in the elevator for 1/2 an hour. We drank (chugged) our wine and our cocktails in the hot elevator and ate our food while being held hostage in a hot elevator!!! What kind of treatment is this for a paying guest? We are appalled by this treatment and certainly believe the hotel owes us some reimbursement. They offered us a bottle of wine but that hardly covers the inconvenience and discomfort we were subjected to in that elevator and certainly does not cover the cost of the food and drinks we were forced to consume in the elevator!! Shame on Melbourne Hotel for allowing the Aurora Rooftop Bar to treat us in this manner. We spent lots of money in this bar to be treated like criminals!! As our last days in Australia, it’s unfortunate that this is how we will remember our experience. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: $80–100

Had a birthday catchup with friends here and loved the experience. Service , food and drinks were very good. Great spot for a catchup!! Will be back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $40–60
