We decided to visit the restaurant because of the positive reviews we read on Yelp and TripAdvisor. My wife and I arrived from New Otleans and wanted to experience some of the local Italian cuisine. When we arrived for lunch the restaurant was empty with customers and there was only one other table that came in the entire time we were there. The waitress wasn't patient with my menu questions and was not attentive at all to our table after bringing out our food. We ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana and Spicy Linguini alla V which the waitress recommended, however it doesn't even appear on the menu. It was a large plate of pasta with small slices of Italian sausage. There was nothing special about this dish and it certainly wasn't worth $21.00 dollars compared to other items I could have ordered. The Eggplant Parmigiana did not impress my wife at all in comparison to other Italian restaurants that we have enjoyed. The food is just average and there certainly isn't anything special about Avolio's Italian Restaurant.
