Been coming here on and off. The Caramel Latte is always tasty, rich and perfectly sweet. Baristas are exceptionally nice and relaxed with quick service. Moderate to quiet atmosphere that's relaxing and comfortable for most. I like this place a lot and I think it deserves more recognition. Price per person: $1–10 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I stopped by Awaken Cafe while passing through town and was pleasantly surprised—this place feels like a hidden gem. The space is warm, eclectic, and very inviting, with a wide variety of seating options including old church pews, tables, sofas, chairs, and counter seating. It really feels like a hybrid between a café, lounge, and small market, especially with the shelves of items for purchase. There were people of all ages there, and the environment felt welcoming for everyone. It was fairly busy, but there was just a low hum of chatter—it was still easy to talk or get work done comfortably. I ordered the Paradise bowl ($11), which stood out because it had an ube base—something I don’t see often. It also came with a choice of drizzle, and I went with almond butter, which paired really well. The bowl had a fresh taste, nice presentation, and was appropriately sized for the price—filling without being too heavy. Service was quick (under 10 minutes), and while the staff weren’t overly warm, they were friendly and efficient. The space overall was pretty clean, including the bathroom (single-use, clean, and easy to access). They offer a wide variety of drinks and food options (you can see more in the menu photos), along with pre-made snacks and meals. I didn’t try a drink this time but would definitely come back to explore that side of the menu. I also appreciated small details like having water available via a dispenser and the Wi-Fi password clearly displayed. They also seem to take a more sustainable approach, which is a nice plus. Parking was easy with free street parking nearby, and the location is convenient—just a short walk from the Amtrak station and near a cute and informative local railroad museum. Overall, this is a great spot for fresh, nutritious food, working, or just relaxing. I’d definitely come back.
