The view here is one of the best in the area. The food is hit or miss at best. If you're a vegetarian, it's best to ask for an ingredient list, they sneak bacon into quite a few items, including the scones. Service is great and parking is easy.

Back Bay Cafe is now closed forever, but as one of the former Online Marketing Specialists, I'd like to suggest that you Try the Nautical Bean, when they open around Feb. 21st in the same location. We need our definitive neighborhood social node back, and maybe NB will rate a better review!

I'm so disappointed! Used to love Back Bay and was excited that they'd re-opened. There didn't appear to be anyone else waiting, but it took almost 30 minutes to get a breakfast burrito and "avocado toast." They appear to be cooking in the Blue Heron kitchen and running food out. The "toast" was hard, dry baguette, smeared with flavorless, browning avocado and less than a slice of bacon sprinkled on top. Definitely not worth $12! Additionally, I'd asked for an over easy egg, and was served a sunny side up egg. When I went to ask if I could get my order fixed, the guy at the counter defensively said he had written the order for over easy. Since that it not what I received, I asked if I could get my order corrected. I was told it would be at least another 20 minutes if they had to remake my breakfast! Custom service was non existent, food was not edible.

Every week we go to the Back Bay cafe and have coffee and a pastry or one of their breakfast items. Their food is great. I recommend their scramble, the breakfast Burrito or the avocado toast. They are all delicious. My only issue is that they sometimes get backed up with orders and it may take up to half an hour to get your delicious meal. I hav never been disappointed with their food. Once in awhile the chefs from the Blue Heron actually deliver the food. P.S. the food comes from the Blue Heron restaurant, including the pastries.
