Bandit Joint truly lives up to its reputation as a hidden gem tucked away in a peaceful corner, and it was absolutely worth the three-month wait for a reservation—now stretched to four months due to its popularity. I brought my wife and two daughters along, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The izakaya-style omakase menu was both pocket-friendly and delightfully unconventional, earning enthusiastic praise from my family. Although my wife and I rarely drink, we found ourselves indulging in Umeshu, beer, and sake, all perfectly paired with the delicious dishes. Every plate impressed us, and not a single morsel was left behind, which is a testament to the quality of the food. The biggest surprise was how much both of my daughters, aged 11 and 5, genuinely enjoyed their meal. I have absolutely no regrets about making the trip and have already recommended Bandit Joint to colleagues and friends who haven’t yet had the pleasure. Most importantly, I encourage everyone to book a date with Nico, who was incredibly friendly and engaged my daughters in entertaining food activities like stirring and splitting dishes. Nico’s warmth and attentiveness truly enhanced our visit—thumbs up for such outstanding hospitality. Price per person: SGD 60–70 Recommended dishes: Grilled Shima Hokke, Seafood Laksa, Cream Crab Croquette, Ji Paitan Hor Fun, Karaage Squid Tentacles

super lovely place ran by a very interesting and warm hearted owner. he kindly explained each dish and how to savour them, and paired them with delicious highballs and sake for us. each dish was a masterpiece and i'm truly mind blown... waited about 4 months for this reservation and we adored every gently handcrafted and served platter. highly recommended, go with an open heart and empty belly for the best experience! thank you Nico for this sanctuary away from the bustling cityscapes Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Dinner at Bandit’s Joint was an absolute treat - a cozy, flavor-packed evening that hit all the right notes. From the moment we stepped in, the warm, intimate vibe and chill music set the tone for a relaxed night of indulgence. The tamagoyaki was unlike any I’ve had before. Soft, fluffy, and oozing with cheesy goodness, it was especially impressive to me given I'm not a fan of the traditional method of preparation. We ordered a second portion and finished it immediately. My wife's favourite was the natto with quail egg - another dish which we instantly ordered again. The crab cream croquette which came next was rich, tasty and also worked really well as a starter. The drinks were also stellar, including sake that paired beautifully with the shima hokke (which was certainly another highlight - grilled to perfection and deeply satisfying). The laksa was outstanding - brimming with ingredients, the broth in particular was highly addictive and kept me going back for more. We also had the tori paitan hor fun - silky noodles swimming in a peppery, rich broth and the perfect kind of comfort food on a rainy day. Beyond the food, what made the night special was the atmosphere. We ended up chatting with a group of regulars who made us feel instantly welcome, and Nico’s hospitality was the cherry on top - warm, attentive, and clearly passionate about the food and experience. Glad we managed to get a booking and visit Bandit's Joint for sure. We’ll definitely be back to explore more of Nico’s creations (both food and drinks) when we hopefully manage to snag another slot!
