We went on a Tuesday evening arriving at 7, with a party of 5. We were seated immediately. There was hardly anyone inside. Outside was about 50% occupied. The initial drinks order was the start of things going wrong. The bottle I had ordered was out of stock. But they had an acceptable substitute. Then there was a long wait before we managed to get the waitress to come back for the food order... So food (burgers and fries) was finally ordered some 40 minutes after we arrived. And we waited. And waited. And were ignored by the waiting staff. And were getting hungrier, and hungrier, with the initial drinks long finished. On complaining at the bar, we received the excuse that as it was a Tuesday, they were busy using the kitchen here for both customers here, and for their sister venue across the road (Foreign Muck). This was news to us, and not something that should have been let affect the service for their own customers! Anyway, they persuaded us that our order was up next... So, some 90 minutes after we arrived our food was served. The plates were cold. The fries far beyond golden and cooked to a crisp, just off being burnt. They were at least warm though. The last straw came when I bit into my burger and it was COLD! They didn't have a microwave to heat it up for me as they "pride themselves" that everything is cooked fresh. They did offer to re-cook our order, but we couldn't wait any longer. We did take the cold food home and used our own microwave to reheat it. My burger did actually taste good once it was hot. I would advise anyone contemplating visiting to avoid Tuesdays! And possibly just avoid if you have a party of more than one or two! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30
