My former favourite Banh Mi place has new owners and new recipes, and Yen Linh is now my go-to in this area! The subs are a good balance of pate, mayo and meat (more meat than many other places). The bread is good. The prices are reasonable, interior is clean and bright.

I'd walked by Banh Mi Yen Linh a few months ago when it was still under construction. Made a mental note to check them out once they'd opened. We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon (around 1:15pm). The inside is quite spacious for a banh mi only joint with seats for about a dozen. The two ladies working the front were friendly and ask how spicy you want your banh mi's made. The menu is simple: 12 banh mi options, coffee and smoothies. There was also two small Vietnamese desserts/snacks. Cool that they have a buy 10 sandwiches, get 1 free deal. Not sure how it works though. Trip #1 - Avocado smoothie ($5.00) - think they use a Ninja blender to make it. Pretty impressed with this drink. Perfect sweetness, good texture and just the right creaminess. Reminded me of Vietnam. - Banh mi dac biet (#1) ($5.00) - this is their house special. Bread was fresh and tastes like it's made in-house. I liked how the mayo was slathered on just right and the mix of meats made for a tasty banh mi. - Banh mi heo u'op xa nuong (#3) ($5.00) - grilled lemongrass pork. B found their pork a good portion but a tad salty. I thought it was fine. Comes with the usual pickles, cucumber, carrot, cilantro and pepper. Trip #2 - Banh mi thit nguoi (#5) ($4.50) - this is their combination. - Banh mi bo uop xa nuong (#10) ($5.00) - grilled lemongrass beef. Would come back, especially for their smoothies. Cash only.
