We live in the neighborhood and have walked past Banshee countless times. Every time, we’d stop to look at the menu and ultimately decide against it—mostly because we couldn’t get past the idea of paying $16 for a carrot. This was our second visit, though, because our first experience completely won us over. This time, we finally tried the famous $16 carrot. It was good, but not our favorite dish. What keeps bringing us back are the oysters, prawns, sourdough, patatas bravas, olives, salami, and outstanding cocktails. The service has been excellent on both visits, and the overall experience is consistently impressive. Banshee definitely isn’t cheap, but for us, it’s absolutely worth it. We’re lucky to have it in the neighborhood and look forward to coming back. Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Hamachi Crudo, Fresh Oysters with Lemon and Sauce

I took the first bite of the Patatas Bravas and immediately found a black curly hair in it. Absolutely disgusting. The restaurant looks nice and the interior is well designed, but every single dish we ordered was bad. The Chicory Salad was overly bitter. The oysters were just average. The Wagyu Beef Tartare had no natural beef flavor at all because it was drowned in too much sauce, making it overwhelmingly salty. It honestly tasted like raw dumpling filling. Terrible. The Roast Half Chicken was extremely gamey and tasted completely unfresh. I could only manage two bites. It tasted like chicken that had been repeatedly frozen and thawed, with a clearly spoiled, rotten taste. Costco’s rotisserie chicken is $5 — just go eat that instead. Strongly do not recommend. Price per person: $50–60 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

wow! beautiful interior and affordable prices (so shocked) overall experience:6.7/10 highlights were the: praytell orange chardonnay (dry, fruity) ($18) asparagus and peas, the pine nuts ($16) chicory salad, wow new fave cheese: midnight moon blue cheese and “dijonaise” our guess was a dijon-mayonnaise dressing ($16) other things we got: + hamachi crudo with passion fruit ($21) thicc slices of fish, great texture and chew. flavor was typical: tart and tangy + tarts flambee ($16) ordered after seeing the table next to us get it. def prettier than it tasted (just mid) + pork collar ($30) the pork was cooked perfectly!!! the overall flavours were lackluster, needed a sweet component or something to punch otherwise felt bland service: our server was sweet and attentive, very bubbly atmosphere: lively, great for pictures. recommend coming before sunset for the way the light filters in — or drinks at night at the dreamy bar is also good. the tables are pretty close together so it was easy to get bumped by the server and other guests. Price per person: $70–80 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
