We walked around the corner from a movie date to pop in for a drink. Ended up finding some awesome oysters and drinks! Dozen oysters and Hamm's, not much more you can ask for. Looking around it was easy to see this was a place that many patrons were regulars at and the wait staff still treated everyone as if they were regulars with warm greetings and conversation. Lively place and great location! Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My friends and I have been huge fans and supporters of bar George for years now. It’s honestly such incredible food!! It’s sneaky- a small menu that changes often but everything is delicious. I don’t want to give a bad review but I do want yall to know that we were disappointed with what took place tonight. We waited an hour to be seated, we were supposedly the “first on the list”, two open tables but were denied because we were a party of three and the tables were for larger parties. We were told 20min tops and instructed to order at the bar as they would come get us when a table was ready. Immediately after we ordered we watched two separate groups of three walk in and ask to be seated, we watched as the hostess sat the groups in the exact spot we were told was being saved for bigger groups. We then waited for an hour to be seated. Honestly we should’ve finished our drinks and left. I wouldn’t be writing this review if it weren’t for the blatant fact that they clearly knew these groups and chose to seat them over us. Obviously this review isn’t going to change anything but it was super shitty of the staff and they should’ve just say us when we asked to sit at the couch outside. Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5

Went to Bar George last Sunday night because I heard great things about the chicken. Ended up sitting at the bar overlooking the kitchen which was fun to watch. After awhile we struck up a conversation with Chef Alex and his girlfriend who was sitting next to us. They were great and between hanging out with them, the chicken and awesome drinks it was easily the best night on our Charleston long weekend! Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
