UPDATE: After reading the owner’s response, I feel I need to clarify my review. Their response contains several claims that do not reflect my experience. The prices displayed in the menu were inconsistent, with different prices for Adana dürüm appearing in different places. I was also charged a service charge that, in my experience, was not clearly displayed or explained before payment. Customers are not idiots, and unexpected charges should be made completely clear. The food was extremely poor value, disappointing in taste, and the overall standard of service was unacceptable. Staff serving customers should be focused on service, not handling money while serving food, and the chef should not be standing around on his phone. I eat Turkish food regularly and have travelled extensively, eating in restaurants all over the world. Honestly, I have rarely experienced such poor value, food quality and service. Most concerningly, I became unwell after eating the dürüm. I sincerely hope the relevant local authority sees this review and considers carrying out a hygiene inspection. My original review was already fair. The owner’s response has only made my concerns stronger. I visited this Turkish restaurant around 5:20 pm and ordered an Adana dürüm. Earlier in the day, I had noticed that the dürüm options were advertised at £8 until 5 pm. However, when I went in after 5 pm, the same or a very similar dürüm was listed on the menu at around £14. Unfortunately, the dürüm was really disappointing and, in my opinion, not worth the price at all. I live in North London, and I can have a much better, authentic Turkish style dürüm while sitting down for around £10. What made the experience even worse was when I went to pay. I noticed that I had been charged £18.56. When I questioned the price, I was told that a service charge had been added. However, I hadn’t seen any service charge mentioned on the menu, nor was I informed about it before paying. Paying almost twice as much for a dürüm that was considerably less enjoyable than what I can get elsewhere in London simply doesn’t make sense to me. I’m also not sure about the legal situation regarding service charges in the UK. Is it actually allowed for a restaurant to add a service charge without clearly informing the customer beforehand or displaying it on the menu? If anyone knows the rules, I’d appreciate some clarification. Overall, a very disappointing experience and definitely not somewhere I would return to. Food: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: £10–20

Dear customer, you come in alone yesterday, you seated and started looking at the dine in menu ! I come to ask you what you want , you asked for adana kofta wrap which is £16.50 you did not say anything about special luch wrap which is £8 and small and untill 5pm and we dont have a menù for that lunch!! We made you 2 skewers of adana wrap wich you eaten all of it and did not complain!! You come to pay and than left !! Than you come back again and asked why you have been charged that much , we have explained £16.50 wrap + service charge and you also had 2 turkish teas + turkish baklava and delight wich we did not even charge you !! You have no obligation to pay service charges if you did not want to pay and did not say nothing about it !!! We work so hard to make our customers happy, but l think and suggest you talk next time when you visit and have questions just make your self clear !! When you come back l have showed you the menu in the menu and the bill that you pictured it clearly show adana kofta £16.50 .. and please next time when writing a review be 100 percent decent and you did not have to write 2 pages of review over 1 wrap wich you eaten all !!

I recently visited Baran Restaurant, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience that I would be happy to repeat. From the very beginning, the warm hospitality of the staff stood out. They greeted us with genuine smiles and made us feel comfortable straight away. Throughout the visit, they were attentive and friendly, always checking in to ensure we had everything we needed, yet never being overbearing. This personal touch really elevated the whole experience. One of the highlights at Baran is their incredible selection of fresh juices. Unlike many places that rely on overly sweetened or artificial flavors, the juices here are vibrant, refreshing, and clearly made from high-quality, fresh ingredients. I tried the pomegranate and mango juices, both of which were full of natural flavor and perfectly chilled. It’s easy to see why the juice menu is such a favorite among customers – it complements the food and adds a refreshing twist to the overall dining experience. Another standout feature is the shisha. The shisha pots are beautifully presented, with a wide range of flavors to choose from. The quality is excellent, producing smooth and flavorful smoke that lasts for a long time. The staff are also knowledgeable about preparing and maintaining the shisha, which shows their attention to detail. The atmosphere at Baran Restaurant is cozy and inviting, with a relaxed vibe that makes it ideal for spending time with friends or winding down after a busy day. Between the welcoming staff, the exceptional juices, and the enjoyable shisha experience, Baran Restaurant offers more than just a meal – it offers a place to relax and feel truly looked after.
